Raps filed vs. 4 cops for extort try

Four policemen have been charged before the Department of Justice (DOJ) for allegedly extorting money from the family of an arrested suspected illegal drugs trader.

The Philippine National Police-Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group (PNP-IMEG) presented the four policemen before Assistant State Prosecutor Susan Villanueva on Thursday afternoon for charges of kidnap-for-ransom and violating the anti-torture law.

The arrested policemen presented for inquest are all members of the Manila Police District Station 4.

They were identified as Corporals Nickson Mina, Juan Carlo Guzman, and Francis Mikko Gagarin, and Patrolman Tom Hikilan.

The four were arrested Wednesday morning during an entrapment operation set-up by the PNP.
