PDEA, Robredo differ in declaring sources of illegal drugs being shipped into PH

Less than a month after being designated as co-chairpersons of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD), the agency’s top two drug czars have given contrasting declarations on the main source of illegal drugs being shipped into the Philippines.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Director General Aaron Aquino on Friday said that most of the shabu that were being transported to the Philippines have come from the “Golden Triangle’’ region which borders the countries of Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar.

He added that cocaine being unlawfully brought to the country came mainly from South America, specifically from Columbia
