DOLE renews crackdown on foreign illegal workers with 400 new inspectors checking companies

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Friday announced the resumption of its crackdown against companies employing undocumented foreign workers.

In a statement, Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III issued Administrative Order No. 472 authorizing the deployment of over 400 new Labor and Employment Officers (LEO) nationwide for the operation, which will end on second week of Dec. this year.

The LEOs were tasked to conduct the following activities: check the legitimacy of the company as shown by the business permit and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration; and verify the roster of local employees and the foreign national/s actually working at the time of inspection; assess  Alien Employment Permit applicants, if there are
