Bello says foreign trips had Duterte’s blessing

Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III on Friday defended his trips abroad by describing them as official travels authorized by no less than President Rodrigo Duterte.

“All of my travels have presidential authority. I cannot go out without presidential authority,” Bello said in a radio interview.

As head honcho of DOLE, he said it is part of his job to know the situation of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
