RIZAL, Nueva Ecija – Two suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels were killed while four others were wounded in an encounter with government troops here on Thursday, the military said.


Philippine Army troops from the 48 th Infantry Battalion and the local police recovered two M-16 rifles, three .45 caliber pistols, war materiel and documents from the encounter site.


Another suspected rebel was captured and is now under police custody, the military officials added.


The wounded were taken to a government hospital in Cabanatuan City.
